4 Design Ideas for an All-White Kitchen

all-white kitchenWhite is a safe, neutral color. It can also feel a bit bland, especially if every element, from the backsplash to the cabinets, is white. We know of a few good design ideas for an all-white kitchen. These designs are an alternate way to add style if the homeowner wishes to retain a white pallette.

1. Keep the Décor Simple

Don’t go overboard with the décor. Ideas include a bowl of fruit, a vase of flowers, or scented pillar candles. All-whitekitchens are appealing because they have a sort of visual serenity. This disappears if you get too fancy with the decorations.

2. Install Chicken-Wire Cabinet Doors

If the cabinet doors are also white, then break up the color scheme a bit by switching out a few of the doors with a see-through, chicken-wire door. This adds a bit of a country flair, especially if you fill the cabinet space with country-style dishware.

3. Go Darker with the Flooring

If everything else is white, then we suggest a bit of contrast in the flooring. Go with a slightly darker color. We personally like wire-brushed wooden floors especially if they’re paired with lacquered white cabinets. You can even stick to white floorboards and just go a few shades darker.

4. Create a Focal Piece

You can create contrast in the backsplash and countertops even if they’re white along with everything else. Splurge in these areas by making them the focal point. Perhaps you can opt for a modern quartz countertop or traditional marbled stone for the backsplash.
